The Reverend Dr Alfredo Agtarap was appointed by the United Methodist Church to serve as pastor of our congregation
July 2007.
Pastor Fred and his wife Naomi are excited to be in the Pacific region again. He says, "Following God's call as a newly-married couple, my wife and
I served in Melanesia in the 1980s. We never realized that the same God would, at the beginning of the twenty-first century,
send us to Micronesia.”
Agtarap received a B.A. degree from Philippine Christian University
and a bachelor of divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary, both in Manila, Philippines. The pastor went on to earn M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary, in Pasadena, Calif.
Pastor Fred has served United Methodist churches in rural Iowa, Seattle and Colville, Washington.
He has also taught at both the seminary and university from which he graduated in the Philippine Islands. He is currently serving as an adjunct professor at Pacific Islands Bible College, Mangilao, Guam, where he teaches undergraduate
and graduate level courses in mission.
